Ah Di Na Campground Restoration Project
Volunteers needed!
This spring, we will be working together with the US Forest Service and numerous other stakeholders to refurbish campground equipment and clear overgrown campsites and trails at AH Di Na on the McCloud River.
Work will include picking up and transporting replacement picnic tables (already assembled), replacing fire rings, repairing and painting existing bathrooms, clearing invasive blackberries and brush from campsites and existing trails, and preparing meals for volunteer crews.
Everyone has something to contribute! If you have specialized experience (e.g., plumbing or using a chain saw, etc) that’s great! If you don’t, we can still use you! Let us know what skills you bring and we will do our best to match you to that activity.
Work parties
will be three days— Day 1: arrival, orientation/safety debrief, and prep work; Day 2: full work day; Day 3: half day of work and departure (or stay and fish!). Two breakfasts and two dinners will be provided—bring your own lunch fixings. There will be time in the afternoon/evening for relaxing, fishing, and gathering around the campfire, playing music, and getting to know your fellow volunteers.
What to Bring:
Bring work clothes, sturdy boots, work gloves (preferably leather), eye protection, hat, gaiters (if you have them), camping gear, fishing rod, and enthusiasm! If you have useful tools (for carpentry, plumbing, painting, pruning), please bring those along!
There will be electricity provided by generator for power tools.
More information will be provided as the date gets closer!
